MEN'S BREAKFAST AND BIBLE STUDY
Remember - we are now meeting at the Birchwood Cafe at 8:30. All men are welcome. Come with your appetites and your Bibles.
WOMEN OF THE CHURCH
Our March gathering began with a 10:00 brunch . The program at our 11:00 meeting was entitled Created in the Image of God. The program's presenter was a DVD, depicting church women throughout the country and the many activities they are involved in, such as crafting quilts, selling fair-traded coffee, putting together health and sewing kits, collecting soap. Our own women are involved in all of these activities. Especially needed now are the health kits and soap, to be used in the disaster-hit areas of Chile and Haiti. Church women do make a difference!
BIBLE STUDY - EPHESIANS
Beginning on Tuesday, March 2nd, this Bible study will be offered at 2:00 and 6:30 at the church. Pastor Mary will lead the six sessions. This study is part of the Book of Faith series, which invites us to "open the scripture and join the conversation." Call the church office (715-354-3804) to register.
FELLOWSHIP HALL ADORNED
Our own Gloria Prock has created some beautiful rosemaling, which is hanging on the wall above the counter. We encourage everyone to step downstairs and view this lovely artwork.
CHURCH LIBRARY
Located in a cozy corner of our gathering area you will find quite a few shelves of books, a self-help check-out system and an opportunity to donate funds and/or books of your own that need new readers. Browse around a bit. There are novels, children's books, self-help books, Bible study helps, reference books, and much much more. Comfy chairs are there for those who wish to ponder a bit.
WORSHIP ASSISTANTS ARE ESPECIALLY NEEDED!
Our Music and Worship chairman would like everyone to put their special talents to work. Copies of duties explaining the various tasks are available in the church narthex. Please volunteer your services. A sign-up sheet is ready for your name as usher, greeter, reader, communion assistant or offering counter. The music groups, too, welcome new performers - choir, tone chimes, praise team. If you can sing, play a musical instrument, take part in an ensemble, you are wanted. Our year is filled with special worship services, celebrations all. Call Kathy Hanson (715-865-3777), Gloria Prock (715-354-3231), Fred Blake (715-469-3228) or Carolyn Cleveland (715-635-6885) if you can help.
QUILTING
Our quilters at work
Quilters are once again meeting on Wednesday mornings (except on the first Wednesday of the month which is Women of the Church meeting) at 10:00. Come and join the group. You need not be an expert. We cut squares, tie tops, pin backings and stich the seams. Quilting is an enjoyable time of learning, camaraderie and fellowship. Bring a sack lunch. Most of our quilts are sent to Lutheran World Relief, which are then shipped around the world. Some of quilts are sent to disaster areas, like Haiti, and others are used right here in our own neighborhood for familes in need.
Our quilters are always in need of fabric for quilt tops and bottoms. Fillers, such as used blankets, mattress pads or bedspreads are needed too. The items should be laundered and may be placed on the table in the rear of Fellowship Hall. We are grateful for all of your donations.
