"2008-Pastor-Hibbard"
INTERIM PASTOR
We welcome Pastor Gerald Hibbard of Chetek, who is serving as our interim pastor. Pastor Jerry and his wife Shirley came to us from Chetek. He celebrated his 50th year of ordination last year. The Hibbards have been married for 54 years, are the parents of two children, grandparents of seven and great-grandparents of one.

NEW MUSIC DIRECTOR
Welcome to Harmoni Jacobsen. She studied at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee, earned a degree in Music Education with a minor in Religion, so Harmoni comes to us well-qualified. She has performed in many musical productions as well as doing solo and trio work. She also teaches voice and piano at her home studio in Barron. We are looking forward to working with her at Long Lake.

Choir practice is held on Tuesday nights at 7:00, and usually sings the first and third Sundays of the month. Tone chimes rehearse on Wednesday afternoons at 4:30 and will play the fourth Sunday of each month. Everyone is welcome to join the music groups.

Please volunteer your services as usher, greeter, reader, communion assistant or offering counter. Call Kathy Hanson (715-865-3777) or Gloria Prock (715-354-3231) if you can help. Extra helpers are needed during Advent and Christmas.

QUILTING SUPPLIES
Our quilters are always in need of fabric for quilt tops and bottoms. Fillers, such as used blankets, mattress pads or bedspreads are needed too. The items should be laundered and may be placed on the table in the rear of Fellowship Hall. The finished quilts are sent to Lutheran World Relief and provide many uses for folks in third world countries. Come and join us. The group meets mornings at 10:00 on the third and fourth Wednesdays (and a fifth Wednesday if there is one) of the month.

NEEDED - BABY CLOTHING
The Pregnancy Help Center is in need of new or slightly used baby (to age two) clothing, quilts, blankets and disposable diapers. Donations may be placed in the laundry basket by the coat rack using the lower level steps.

LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF COFFEE
Coffee for purchase is available between services. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the coffee sale benefit small farmers in third world countries or mission projects. It's excellent coffee. Try it! You'll like it!

PRAYER SHAWL KNITTING MINISTRY
Our Shawl Prayer ministry has received wide acceptance and the shawls are in great demand. The shawls are given to those who are hurting in body, mind or spirit, to remind them that they are wrapped in God's love. Requests for prayer shawls may be made by contacting Anne Drake at 715-635-8876 or by calling the church office. Knitters are always needed and appreciated.
