A Bit of History
Long Lake Lutheran Church, affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, is located in a beautiful rural setting. The congregation was founded in 1897 and was made up of folks with mostly Norwegian backgrounds. Since that time, through good times and bad, the membership has grown and the church building itself has undergone several enlargements and remodelings. Our membership total at the beginning of 2011 included 385 baptized and 293 confirmed.

For over 57 years Long Lake and Trinity Lutheran Church in Birchwood were united in one parish, sharing pastors, secretary and music director. In the year 2002 Long Lake became its "own" parish, with its own full-time pastor, and secretary. A recent building project enlarged the sanctuary, added a "gathering" room, provided more Sunday School and meeting rooms on the lower level and provided space for offices. Most of the construction work was done by volunteers, members of the congregation who are extremely versatile in all phases of building. The pastor's and secretary's offices were completed in the summer of 2002.

Long Lake Lutheran Church is a vibrant, growing church. Sunday morning worship service begins at 9:00, with Sunday School 9:00 also. This schedule will continue until the 2012 summer schedule begins.
Special music during worship is provided by the Chancel Choir, the Praise Choir, the Tone Chimes Choir and Sunday School students. Everyone is welcome at Long Lake Lutheran Church.
